Clyde Valley Group started their Healthy Working Lives journey 18 months ago. Bronze accreditation was achieved in February 2019, quickly followed by silver and then gold in March 2020.
The group said that this impressive achievement is testament to the commitment of its staff and staff volunteers from the Corporate Social Responsibility Group who deliver the events and campaigns throughout the year.
Some of the campaigns Clyde Valley staff ran over the last 18 months included:
- Walk all Over Cancer
- Healthy lunches
- MacMillan Coffeee Morning
- Mindfulness sessions
- International Happiness Week
- Reverse Advent Calendar
- Stress Awareness Month
The campaigns and activities are tailored to staff needs and requests through annual consultation. Not only do the staff participate, but they raise money for their nominated charity Chris's House in the process. In addition to raising money, staff recently assisted Chris’s House in securing a grant for £10,000 towards a staff post as well as volunteering some of their time to assist with administrative tasks.
Lynn Wassell, Clyde Valley Group CEO, said: “We take our staff wellbeing very seriously and want people to achieve their potential. To do this, we believe having happy and healthy staff is a must. Using the HWL framework really helps us focus on the activities and health campaigns our staff are asking for as well as inject some fun into the working day.”
Graeme Stevenson, Senior Health and Work Officer from the HWL team, said: “I was really impressed by the commitment and range of activities the team at Clyde Valley, delivered as part of the HWL programme. During this period, they have really embedded the HWL ethos into the culture of the organisation and have really taken into consideration the health, safety and wellbeing of staff. This is further demonstrated by the quick advancement through each award level from bronze to gold since 2018.”
